The NoMad Bar

10 W 28th St, Flatiron
Located in the heart of Flatiron, the NoMad hotel presents a safe haven to recoup from hectic days. The dark mahogany bar, lush booths and cozy fireplace will set you at ease. While there’s an extensive wine and beer list here, it’s their well-executed classic cocktail menu that is truly worth bragging about. Order a negroni and don’t be surprised if it’s one of the best you’ve ever had. If you’re feeling hungry, don’t forget to try their chicken pot pie! You won’t regret it.
Raines Law Room
48 W 17th St, Flatiron
Don’t get lost as you try to find this one! The Raines Law Room is truly a speakeasy style bar, reminiscent of NYC in the prohibition era of the 20’s. You’ll walk down some steps and ring a buzzer to gain access to the mysterious bar inside. While it’s usually busy, it’s definitely worth the wait to grab a table with some friends and appreciate the fun atmosphere. If you really want to snag one of the curtained off sofas, note that reservations are only accepted on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. The mixologists here are magicians so feel free to order whatever your heart desires, their list has some eclectic choices including the The Gershwin (gin, ginger, lemon, rosewater).
Suffolk Arms
269 Houston St, LES
Giuseppe González, who mastered cocktails at PKNY, Pegu Club, Dutch Kills, among others just opened the most recent bar on our list on February 18th with long time friend Ruben Rodriguez of Havana Cafe. Their drink menu is split into thirds, house originals (We recommend the Trinidad Sour!), “Something like Classics” and an entire section dedicated to vodka mixed drinks. The laid-back, wood paneled bar itself is decorated with sixty different hand-drawn portraits of notable New Yorkers like Keith Haring along with artwork of the New York Public Library lions. This is a must-visit!
Aldo Sohm Wine Bar
151 W 51st St, Theater District, Midtown West
As anyone who works in Midtown can agree, it’s hard to find a quality bar to go out with the girls after the day is done. Fortunately, there’s hope in the midst! This wine bar has more choices than you will ever need and artisan cheese platters that you will definitely want to try. Afterall, it’s a shootoff from the elite restaurant, Le Bernardin. Don’t know much about wines? It’s okay to be a novice here, in fact they encourage a little wine exploration so go ahead and get a flight! The huge, plush communal sofa with hanging lights and walls decked with modern art gives this place a welcome feeling of being inside of your chic friend’s living room.

356 W 58th St, Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown West
Another hotel bar? Yes! Walk into the Hudson hotel, go left by the reception desk and you’ll find quite the hidden gem. The two-story, high-ceiling bar is lined with bookshelves stocked with vintage looking books, complete with rolling ladders. The vibe is undeniably, old-timey New York with a modern twist. Past the pool table and chess boards and above the incredibly comfortable leather sofas, the walls are lined with quirky photos of cows wearing all sorts of fabulous hats. Can’t choose what to pick first out of their cocktail list? Give the Smoky Pear Margarita a try, yummy!
