She surfs, she rides, she’s easygoing and loves to be outside: Emma is a Hamptons girl through and through. The Stony Brook grad, who begins law school in August, credits her five-year-old sister with keeping her in the loop when it comes to kid stuff. Read to me: “Goodnight Moon” because it was my favorite when read to me! “Pete the Cat” books are also fun.
I ♥ the Hamptons: I love the close-knit community, there is no place like it! And the scenery and farm stands… everything is fresh.
Take your kids: The little secret bays that surround the Hamptons are great places to explore because they are full of “treasures” like seashells, hermit crabs, and snails.
Babysitting at the beach: My best tips are setting a timer for sunscreen application, packing extra drinks, and bringing baby powder or wipes for sand removal.
Best surf spot: Road H in Hampton Bays is known as “the bowl” because of its circular shape (created by the canal and jetty) and great surfing waves!
Earning your money: One time a girl I was babysitting begged me to try this “really yummy” cookie. Hesitant at first, I finally did to please her. As I was chewing she asked if it was “yummy” and I said “yes” (while trying to hide my displeasure). She then told me that it was her dog’s treat!
