Back to school time (already! How is that possible?). We already miss summer but we kind of love back to school shopping….
Every NYC kiddo needs a cool backpack that’s up to the task of carrying books, lunches, and a few choice necessities. We took a quick peek at some of our favorite sites and stores, and found these very cool packs that we wanted to share.

State Bags “Downtown” Backpack
Love that for every backpack purchased, Brooklyn-based State bags donates a backpack to a kid in need. And their designs are both classic and fun, like this glam one. $70, statebags.com
2. SoYoung Pixopop “Flying Stitch Bunny” Backpack
Made of easy-to-clean raw linen (it’s machine washable!), this backpack from SoYoung is as cute as can be with its Pixopop design. Toddler size $42, us.soyoung.ca
3. Molo “Coconuts” Big Backpack
Molo makes cool backpacks with fun designs (roller skates, surf boards). We’re partial to coconuts. $42, molo.com
4. JanSport “Day of the Dead” Big Student Backpack
Utilitarian backpack maker JanSport has really stepped up its design game lately. Reportedly roomy and well-made, the only thing we don’t like about this funky Day of the Dead themed pack is the ginormous logo distracting us from the party. $48, jansport.com
5. Beatrix New York “Pervical the Dino” Backpack
So many cute, kid-friendly but also parent-pleasing packs at Beatrix New York, like this one (Percival’s backstory: a low carb diet has kept him trim despite being 60 million years old, ha). Toddler size $42, beatrixny.com
6. Herschel “Strawberry Ice Taxi” Heritage Backpack
Take a taxi (or 12) to school, kids, with this fun pink and gold backpack from Herschel. $40, herschel.com
7. Alchemy Goods “Madison” Backpack
Too cool for school big kids can toss this one from Alchemy on their back before hopping on their board and heading to, um, class? $130, alchemygoods.com
