Hello Sitter favorite Priscilla V. grew up in Queens, and traces her sitter experience back 14 years, when she began watching her many cousins and two brothers. And although she has her degree in business, she prefers babysitting over the corporate and retail positions she’s had. “I love children and working with Hello Sitter came natural to me,” the fluent Spanish speaker told us. “Everyday I wake up I love what I do. Hello Priscilla
Squashing separation anxiety: “I use a combination of comforting the child but also try to take their mind off the fact their parents have left. I usually play games, or have the child show me one of their favorite toys or books to get them into a fun iteration.”
A cool toy: “I love Sphero. It is a cool little robot that can move around or change color and is controlled by your smart phone or tablet.”

Love wins: “I love to play with kids and find out what they really enjoy doing. I also love going to the park with them. It gives them an opportunity to run around and I love that I also just get to be a kid again and have some fun. I also get a workout in too while being active with the kids!”
Find her here: “There is an amazing coffee shop by me that allows dogs and [my dog Ginger and I] just hang out there. If I have a couple weeks off, I enjoy traveling all over the world. Been to 25 countries and hopefully next year I can go to three more.”

The kid connection: “I believe it’s how I can adapt to them so quickly. No matter what age they are, I immediately get them and we establish a friendship and have fun! Even when we are doing homework or getting ready for bed they always respond well to me.”
Tricks of the trade: “I love to tell stories about my adventures whilst traveling. It encourages the kids to open up and tell them more about themselves and instantly helps us to build a connection. During homework time I like to play trivia games with them. It not only is educational but it helps to make homework more fun.”
